My name is Boris Jezic and I was born in Zagreb, Croatia. At the very early age of 11 months, my family emigrated to the United States. My parents raised three children in a bilingual American household. We often returned to Europe to bond with grandparents, aunts and uncles. Travels to dozens of countries gave us new perspectives on how other people live.
One of the most striking differences between the USA and rest of the world is water consumption. Having lived in postwar Europe, my father instructed us to turn off faucets while brushing our teeth. We also took quick showers and used melted ice to water our plants.
Mediterranean islands have very limited fresh water resources, with some of the lowest availability per capita. Rainwater collection systems were a real eye opener. Water management is everyday life for billions of folks.
I love cold drinks, which led me to pursue No Ice solutions and name the concept N’ICE Chill. Champagne, wine, beer and many other beverages do not require bags of ice. Countless kilowatt hours and gallons of water are required to make and store ice, which is then transported and melted into waste water. Let’s be N’ICE!
“No ICE is N’ICE”
